Artists Research has been established to make available quality evidence about artists in the social and economic spheres. It is intended that the Unit will play a key role in the supportive infrastructure for visual artists in England.

Artists Research is interactive, supportive, collaborative and inclusive of the visual arts in all their diversity. It is concerned with research about contemporary artists and creative craft practitioners from all backgrounds working in any medium or kind of visual art, from traditional to high tech.

CANADIAN VISUAL ARTS SUMMIT

A Visual Arts Summit was held in Ottawa, Canada at the end of November 2007. Research was presented showing that Canada’s visual artists were earning on average C$18,700, while crafts workers were earning C$15,500. This compares with the average Canadian’s earnings of C$31,800. | Read More
